Parenting Win

While strolling in the mall, I saw a little girl running around. Then she sat down on one of those display sofas that had a sign: DO NOT SIT.

Her dad approached her, softly called her attention and asked her to read the sign. She slowly read the sign like she just learned how to read. Her dad then asked her what it meant. She said not to sit on it. She stood up as her father took her hand.

I think it was an example of amazing parenting. Other parents would probably just shout at the kid. This dad took the time to let his child digest why her behavior was not appropriate as well as practicing her reading and comprehension.
